Detailed Itinerary
The Local Market Experience
Our journey begins in the heart of Munnar Town. We’ll walk through the vibrant local market together, hand-picking fresh vegetables, aromatic spices, and local ingredients. This isn't just shopping—it's an insider’s look at the flavors that define South Indian cuisine.
The Village Home Ascent
After gathering our supplies, we’ll head to our traditional home located in a quiet Munnar village. You’ll leave the tourist trails behind and enter an authentic family kitchen. Experience the warmth of local hospitality as we prepare to cook over traditional stoves.
The Hands-On Class
Whether you prefer Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian dishes, you’ll learn the secrets of South Indian cooking. From tempering spices to grinding fresh coconut, you’ll be involved in every step. We focus on traditional recipes passed down through generations.
The Village Feast
The best part! Once the cooking is done, we sit down together to enjoy the delicious meal you’ve helped create. It’s a time for sharing stories, tasting the authentic flavors of Munnar, and experiencing the true spirit of Kerala.

We had a fantastic afternoon with Philip, his wife and mum, who were so lovely. We loved choosing our menu to the dishes we fancied cooking. The walk through the market was engaging and informative. We loved learning about each dish, taking notes on how it was cooked. Everything was clean, perfectly cooked and bursting with flavour. Would recommend to anyone looking for authentic Kerala food!

This is probably the best experience of our 3 week trip to India! The food was delicious and it was so lovely to meet Philip’s family and get an understanding of village life. Roaming the markets was also great! The hosts could not have been more welcoming & we are so excited to try the recipes and techniques at home. Highly recommend to anyone wanting something non-touristy and genuinely special xx

Such a great experience!
This is much more than a cooking class. You get a very authentic experience that includes a market tour, a beautiful ride among tea plantations, visiting a home in a local village, joining the family in cooking while learning how local dishes are prepared, and eventually having more food than you can eat.
Philip, his mom and his wife were very generous hosts and made this a very special experience.
