Tea Trail Walk & Factory Experience

A 3-hour deep dive into the heritage, culture, and craft of Munnar’s famous tea estates.

Detailed Itinerary

The Plantation Walk

Step into the heart of the rolling green hills. We begin with a guided walk through the tea estates, where you’ll learn the secrets of tea cultivation—from how the soil is managed to the precise art of plucking the perfect leaves. This is the best time for photography before the midday sun hits.

Village Life & Local Traditions

We move away from the trails and into a local village for a glimpse of the real Munnar. You’ll visit a local kindergarten and share a cup of traditional tea with the community. It’s a quiet, authentic moment that connects you to the people who have lived and worked in these hills for generations.

The Panoramic Descent

As we trek back through the plantations, the trail opens up to offer panoramic, wide-angle views of Munnar’s tea country. We’ll take a short break for refreshments and soak in the scenery before we transition from the fields to the processing stage.

The Factory & Tasting Session

We head to a nearby tea factory (approx. 12 km from Munnar) to see the industrial side of the craft. You’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at the entire processing sequence—withering, rolling, drying, and sorting. We conclude the journey with a guided tea-tasting session where you’ll learn to identify the different grades and flavors of freshly processed tea.

What our Guests Say

★★★★★

I expected a boring factory tour, but the walk through the plantations first made it feel much more personal. The tea tasting at the end actually taught me why some teas taste so much better than others. Great way to spend a morning

The visit to the village kindergarten was the highlight. It wasn't 'touristy' at all, just a nice look at real life here. The factory part is fascinating—you really appreciate your morning cup of tea more after seeing the work that goes into it.

Excellent value for 3 hours. Our guide was super knowledgeable about the plants and the history. The factory entry was all handled for us, and the transport was smooth. Perfect if you don't want a full day of heavy hiking
